The Department of Neurosurgery offers the full range of contemporary neurological surgery. To date more than 1900 neurosurgical procedures are yearly performed. Our modern neurosurgical operation theatres are fully equipped with

neuronavigation, fluorescence, 3D-x-ray and up to date neuromonitoring devices. A continuously staffed intensive care unit is associated. Specialized expertise is offered in the following:

Brain surgery

  • Aneurysm and Angioma treatment, both open surgery and minimal invasive
  • neurointerventional approaches
  • Neuronavigation and fluorescence for brain tumour surgery
  • Skull base surgery, if neccessary together with the department of plastic and facial surgery

This first contact is free of charge and a first assessment of possible treatment required will be made.

If a surgical treatment seems appropriate, you will get an appointment in our outpatient department for the final decision about your therapy. This appointment will be charged at 150,– Euro.

In case of surgery we offer an all-inclusive service with fixed costs, covering all necessary pre-operative diagnostic procedures, surgery, including anesthesia, postoperative treatment, nursing services and single bedroom accommodation. The cost depends on the kind of surgery. The cost will be estimated after your first contact and accurately determined after your appointment in our outpatient department.

During your hospitalisation you are free to use your mobile phone everywhere in the hospital, except in the intensive care unit. In addition, WLAN access can be provided to you in all places, including in the intensive and intermediate care units.
